The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) Board of Education has adopted a resolution in recognition of the Day of the Teacher, designating May 14, 2025, as a day to honor the essential contributions of teachers and certificated staff throughout the district.
California observes the Day of the Teacher each year on the second Wednesday in May. The day was formally established in state legislation in the early 1980s and continues to serve as a meaningful opportunity to thank those who guide and support students in every corner of the state.
This statewide recognition underscores the extraordinary work happening every day in CVESD classrooms. Beyond academic instruction, CVESD teachers inspire students, model perseverance, and open doors to new possibilities. Their efforts create a nurturing environment where students feel valued, confident, and eager to learn.
“The impact of a great teacher lasts long after the school year ends,” said Superintendent Dr. Reyes. “We are thankful for the dedication our teachers show each day in helping students grow into confident, lifelong learners.”
CVESD commends its teachers for the dedication, skill, and passion they bring daily, shaping a brighter future for students, families, and their school community. On May 14 and throughout the year, the district celebrates the lasting contributions they make to public education and beyond.
