As summer begins, the Chula Vista Elementary School District is proud to announce it will participate in the Seamless Summer Feeding Option, a federally funded initiative by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). This program provides free lunch and snacks to all children and teens up to age 18, ensuring that students continue to receive nutritious meals even when school is out.
Meals will be served from June 9 through June 30, Monday through Friday, with the exception of June 19, when sites will be closed in observance of Juneteenth. Lunch will be available from noon to 1 p.m., and snacks will be served from 3 to 3:30 p.m. The two locations offering meals are the Civic Center Library, located at 365 F Street, and the South Chula Vista Library, located at 389 Orange Avenue.
This program is open to all children, and no registration is required. The district remains committed to supporting student health and well-being year-round and encourages families to take advantage of this opportunity.
