Complaint Information Declaration Packet

The Chula Vista Elementary School District Governing Board welcomes constructive criticism of school policies, programs, or personnel when it is motivated by a sincere desire to improve the quality of the educational process. Constructive criticism assists schools and departments in becoming more effective.

In accordance with district policy, complaints will be categorized in one of the following four areas:

  1. Complaints Concerning School Personnel
  2. Complaints Concerning Instructional Materials
  3. Uniform Complaint Procedures for Programs or Alleged Acts of Discrimination
  4. Williams Uniform Complaint Procedures

To view or print a copy of the declaration packet in English or Spanish, download the appropriate file under Forms and Documents located at the bottom of this page.

Board policies provide guidance to complainants as well as the district regarding individual complaints. All complainants will be asked to document the nature of their complaint and file it under a specific complaint policy. Procedures, timelines, and legal guidelines are included in each policy. If any complainant requires assistance, staff will provide needed information, translation, and support to expedite the process.

Nonprofit Organization Material Distribution

To cooperate in publicizing community services, special events and public meetings of interest to students and parents/guardians, the district may approve the distribution of materials from nonprofit organizations that extend the community's cultural, recreational, artistic, or service educational opportunities. To better provide this service, CVESD schools have gone paperless, saving time and money by implementing the "Peachjar" electronic flyer distribution system. Using this new tool, our schools expect to save nearly 70 tons of paper per year, or over 1,100 trees. Additionally, our schools have eliminated the administrative burden and material cost associated with the paper flyer distribution. To ensure eligibility for flyer distribution in our schools, the organization must be a tax-exempt organization and provide its Nonprofit I.D. No. as proof of nonprofit status. (“On file” numbers cannot be looked up. You must include it with each application for flyer distribution.) All materials distributed in District schools shall contain the following disclaimer on the face of the printed material in a legible typeface font no smaller than 12pt:

The Chula Vista Elementary School District neither sponsors nor endorses this information, activity, or organization. Distribution of this material is provided by the district as a community service. Any questions or comments should be directed to the sponsoring organization.

If flyer is also in Spanish, use this disclaimer:

El Distrito Escolar Primario de Chula Vista no patrocina ni respalda esta información, actividad u organización. La distribución de este material es un servicio por parte del Distrito para la comunidad. Cualquier pregunta o comentario debe dirigirse a la organización patrocinadora.
