At the June 11, 2025, Board of Education Meeting, the Chula Vista Elementary School District proudly recognized two parent scholars for their commitment to learning during the 2024-25 school year.
J’nea Ector, parent at Enrique Camarena Elementary, and Stephanie McGee, parent at Rosebank Elementary, were honored for their participation in CVESD University, one of the district’s family engagement initiatives that empowers families through a variety of workshops designed to support student success at home and school.
Both parents attended seven or more workshops throughout the 2024–25 school year, signifying a strong commitment to expanding their understanding of various topics, including literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and more.
“Family involvement is a key ingredient in student success,” said CVESD Superintendent Dr. Eduardo Reyes. “We are proud to celebrate these parent scholars who exemplify what it means to be an engaged and informed partner in education.”
The district thanks all families who participated this year and looks forward to continuing opportunities for family engagement in 2025–26. For more information on upcoming workshops and how to get involved, visit the CVESD Family Engagement webpage here.
