The Chula Vista Elementary School District (CVESD) proudly honors the important role school nurses play in supporting the health and academic success of students. In recognition of their dedication, the Board of Education has declared May 7, 2025, as School Nurse Day.

School nurses at CVESD support the well-being of students in countless ways. Whether they’re providing care for a student in need, leading routine health screenings, or promoting healthy habits, they create a calm and supportive school environment where students feel safe, supported, and ready to focus on learning.

In addition to addressing health needs, school nurses serve as a vital link between families and community resources. They listen with empathy, offer helpful guidance, and work alongside parents and guardians to promote the overall wellness of each child.
