On September 7, 2023, district leaders, City of Chula Vista leadership, students, and community members joined together to celebrate the ribbon cutting and open house for our newest Station Experience – the Sound Station.
Collaborating with the City of Chula Vista, the Sound Station allows sixth grade students to unleash their potential and discover their strengths in the creative economy. Students at the Sound Station explore their passions, interests, and talents through engaging, hands-on activities in music and art.
Superintendent Eduardo Reyes, Ed.D., expresses his enthusiasm for expanding our award-winning Station Experiences. "We are delighted to partner with the City of Chula Vista to bring the Sound Station to our sixth grade students,” said Dr. Reyes. “This program aligns with our commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in education. By providing a space where students can explore their interests and discover potential career pathways, we are equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in the creative economy."
The Sound Station is a testament to our dedication to innovative educational approaches that prepare students for the future. We recognize the importance of nurturing creativity and providing students with the tools to explore their passions beyond traditional academic subjects.
The Director of Innovation Michael Bruder, emphasizes the value of this program, stating, "The Sound Station creates a unique opportunity for students to engage in career exploration in a hands-on and immersive way. By connecting student’s interests in music and art to potential careers, we empower our students to pursue their dreams.”
