Mr. Francisco Tamayo was elected to the Board of Education in November 2014, November 2018, and again in November 2022. His term expires in December 2026. Mr. Tamayo is the parent of two children, one of whom currently attends Saburo Muraoka Elementary.

Mr. Tamayo brings over 15 years of experience in several areas, concentrating on providing the technology, assistance, and training needed for students, teachers, and support staff. He is currently employed at the San Diego County Office of Education. During his tenure, he has been a student advocate, learning about the different aspects of school district administration and a voice of hundreds of classified staff members.

Mr. Tamayo has been part of the community as a member of MANA de San Diego, among other organizations, and as a volunteer in various community events.
