Delia Dominguez Cervantes was elected to the Board of Education in November 2022. She and her husband have nine children, sixteen grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews who attend district schools. Ms. Dominguez Cervantes was born in San Diego and has been a Chula Vista resident since 2004. She spent most of her career working with the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency and retired after 26 years as a Health and Human Services Administrator. While working with the County of San Diego, she attended Southwestern College and graduated with Honors from the University of San Diego Paralegal Program.

Ms. Dominguez Cervantes's career and community involvement has focused on serving the most vulnerable in our community to access resources and opportunities, to include Leveraging Academics for Professional Achievement. She is committed to Students First, Academic Achievement, Age-Appropriate Curriculum, Support for Teachers and Classified Staff, a Safe, Healthy Learning Environment, and Parental Engagement. Delia Dominguez Cervantes is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

Ms. Dominguez Cervantes invites the community to connect with her via meetings that will be held virtually (via Zoom). Meetings are scheduled as follows:

Second Monday of the month, 9:00-10:00am

Third Monday of the month, 4:00-5:00pm
