The Chula Vista Elementary School District students are gearing up for our annual California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing. CAASPP testing is administered to students annually to evaluate academic progress and performance in grades third through eighth. It provides valuable data to evaluate the effectiveness of our curriculum, identifies areas needing improvement, and ensures that students meet state standards.
As CAASPP testing kicks off in our district, we encourage all our parents, guardians, and families to recognize its significance in evaluating our district and students while promoting accountability and identifying achievement gaps. By leveraging the insights gained from CAASPP testing, we can continue to strive towards providing high-quality education for all students and ensuring they are prepared for future success.
As a parent/guardian, you play a crucial role in supporting your child’s academic success, including preparing for the CAASPP test. Here are some ways you can help your child do well and ease testing anxiety:
- Ensure your child attends school and arrives on time.
- Make sure your child gets to bed at an early time and gets a good night’s sleep.
- Feed your child a healthy breakfast before dropping them off at school or if they participate in morning breakfast, make sure they arrive on time.
- Encourage your child to do their best and remind them that their test performance does not solely determine their academic progress.
We encourage all our students to do their best during the testing period and remember that they got this! You can find more information about testing in our district by clicking here. For more information about CAASPP, please watch the district CAASPP informational video below.
