English Learner (EL) Roadmap:

The English Learner Roadmap was developed in collaboration with a group of District administrators and teachers with presentation at the DAC/DELAC general meeting.  The plan provides the following components:

  • Initial identification
  • Instructional programs and services
  • Reclassification
  • Staffing authorization
  • Professional development
  • Accountability and evaluation
  • Parent Advisory committees
  • Funding

New English Language Development Standards were adopted on November 7, 2012 by the State Board of Education.

ELD standards help guide curriculum, instruction, and assessment for English learners who are developing the English language skills needed to engage successfully with state subject matter standards for college and career readiness.
